In the sweltering conditions, both teams’ attacks were frustrating. Both teams were physically tired after a short three-day break, which led to a lack of attacking accuracy. Fouls also continued to disrupt the flow of the game.

The home team, Jeju, took the lead as time went on. Hayes knocked on the door with several shots. Gwangju played a physical defence and defended until the end. Gwangju made one counterattack after another in the final minutes of the game. In late stoppage time, Kim Han-gil tried a left-footed curling shot that went just wide of the post. After a frustrating game, both teams were unable to finish the game.
