It is the first time in Korea that a smart air dome for soccer has been installed. A total of 300 people attended the completion ceremony of the ‘Smart Air Dome’, including Chairman Cho Hyun-jae of the industrial complex, Cho Yong-man, 2nd Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young, National Assembly member Kim Seok-gi, and Gyeongju citizens.

The ‘Smart Air Dome’ completed this time was carried out as a public contest project by local governments as a ‘Battery Training Specialized Facility (Air Dome) Installation Support Project’ promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Corporation in 2020.

Gyeongju City was selected as the first project site, and construction began in December 2021 and went through a construction period of about a year. A total of 10.7 billion won (1 billion won for provincial expenses + 4.7 billion won for municipal expenses) was invested, including 5 billion won from the National Sports Promotion Fund. 메이저놀이터

The ‘Smart Air Dome’ is the largest in Korea with a total area of ​​about 25,000 square meters (10,000 square meters of air dome). It consists of an indoor soccer field of international standards, a sand practice field, spectator seats and office space.

The air dome is a facility that can be used regardless of the season and the external environment such as fine dust as the fiber roof is maintained by air pressure and an automatic air purification and cooling/heating system is installed.

In particular, the ‘Smart Air Dome’ can be maintained for more than 4 hours even if the inflow of air is blocked, and it is evaluated as a safe facility by introducing an automatic control system that automatically operates the blower and lighting equipment in case of an emergency.

Chairman Cho Hyun-jae said, “Congratulations on the completion of the Smart Air Dome installed in Gyeongju for the first time in Korea, and we expect that many soccer players will conduct pleasant training regardless of the season.” We will do our best to make it possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, ‘Smart Air Dome’ will be officially opened in April after a two-month pilot operation period after the completion ceremony, and will be installed in Changwon, Gyeongnam, Chuncheon, and Goseong, Gangwon.
