Lotte Giants’ Kim Min-seok, who participated in the 2023 KBO League All-Star Game as the fourth high school rookie in history, won the ‘Best Performance Award’ for transforming into BlackPink’s Jenny.
Kim Min-seok received the Best Performance Award at a ceremony held after the All-Star Game at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 15th. Kim won the award by receiving 12 votes from the journalists (24 votes).
He received a cash prize of 3 million won for the award. He was followed by Buchanan (Samsung – 4 votes), Noh Jin-hyuk (Lotte – 3 votes), Socrates (KIA – 2 votes), Koo Ja-rook (Samsung – 2 votes) and Austin (LG – 1 vote).
Kim Min-seok, who made his debut this year, was named to the Dream All-Star Outfield team, making him the fourth player in history to be named to the All-Star team in his first year as a high school rookie. Previously, Kim’s teammate Ahn Chi-hong was the first to receive the honour in 2009 with KIA, followed by Lee Jung-hoo (Kiwoom) in 2017. In 2019, Jung Woo-young (LG) was named to the All-Star Best in his first year.
