Kim Woo-min (22, Gangwon-do Office) wrote a new personal record in the 400m freestyle.
Kim Woo-min was the first to take a touchpad with a record of 3 minutes 45 seconds 59 in the men’s freestyle 400m final of the KB Financial Korea Swimming Championship (2023 National Business Team Selection Competition) held at the indoor swimming pool in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk on the afternoon of the 30th.

With this, Kim Woo-min broke the A record of the International Swimming Federation in the 400m freestyle following the 800m freestyle (1st place) and 1500m (1st place). Thanks to this, he will compete in three individual events at the World Championships in Fukuoka, which will be held in July.
Previously, Kim Woo-min achieved an A record in the 200m freestyle final (3rd place), but was unable to qualify for the event due to a regulation that limited the number of players per country to two in each event.
Kim Woo-min, who finished the race, said, “Before I competed in the 400m freestyle in this selection, I ran 200m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle, so I was physically burdened, but I feel good because my record was better than I thought. I want to be more immersed in it and produce good results.”
He continued, “I am proud to have surpassed A records in all events I participated in, and I am looking forward to more results in the future. I will not be complacent here and will train harder so that I can achieve good results in the upcoming World Championships and Asian Games.”
