Hwang Sun-hong, head coach of the Asian Games Football Team, announced the final 22-man roster for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games at the Jongno Football Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on Thursday. He has played seven K League One matches for Gangwon this season, and has been named in the best 11 twice.

South Korea, who are aiming for a third consecutive Asian Games title, have picked their most elite squad. Hwang chose four Europeans, including Lee Kang-in, who moved to big club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after a breakout season in the Spanish Primera Liga, as well as Jung Woo-young (Stuttgart), Hong Hyun-seok (Gent) and Park Kyu-hyun (Dynamo Dresden). The wild cards (over 24) were Baek Seung-ho, Park Jin-seop (Jeonbuk) and Seol Young-woo (Ulsan).

Hwang said, “I will do my best to achieve my goal with the players. We look forward to your support,” he said.
