Maybe Korean baseball fans will be able to see Shohei Ohtani in person.
If Ohtani signs with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he will have to go to Korea for the opening game to be held in Korea next year.
The Dodgers are scheduled to play the 2024 Major League Baseball opener in Korea against their rival San Diego Padres.
If that happens, Ohtani will face off against San Diego’s Kim Ha-seong. Although it will not be a two-hitting matchup as Ohtani will not be able to pitch next year, there will be a batting matchup.
Rumors that Ohtani will wear a Dodgers uniform are already widespread.
According to former MLB general manager and current The Athletic insider Jim Bowden, Ohtani will likely not re-sign with the Los Angeles Angels this offseason.
“Ohtani’s time with the Angels is coming to an end. He won’t say it publicly anymore, but it’s over. He spent six years with the Angels and they never finished above .500,”먹튀검증 he said.
Bowden cited the Dodgers as a leading candidate to sign him this offseason.
“The Dodgers tried to stay within the luxury tax threshold ($233 million) to be in a better position to sign Ohtani this offseason, but ultimately ended up under the bar due to the arbitrator’s decision to reduce Trevor Bauer’s suspension,” he said. “Still, team owner Mark Walter added, “Financial issues have never limited President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman’s efforts to make the Dodgers a better team.”
