Foreigners from NPB who are trusted and used are now a thing of the past, 2 of them have already packed and 1 of them is in trouble

Foreign players from Japanese professional baseball who believe and use are now a thing of the past.

Three foreign players who debuted in the KBO League this season after playing in Japan last year are Brian O’Grady, Birch Smith (above Hanwha), and Annie Romero (SSG). All of these were the greatest failures of all time, as if they had promised.

Hanwha broke up with Mike Tuckman, who had a batting average of 2.89 li (166 hits in 575 at-bats), 12 homers, 43 RBIs, and 88 runs, and recruited O’Grady. The terms of the contract are a total of $900,000, including an annual salary of $700,000 and an incentive of $200,000.

At the time of O’Grady’s recruitment,메이저놀이터 Hanwha introduced O’Grady as “a power hitter-type right-handed and left-handed outfielder who can expect more than 20 home runs, and can cover all positions in the outfield, including center fielder.”

General Manager Son Hyuk said, “O’Grady is capable of center field as well as left and right corners in defense, and is an outfielder with power in attack.” I decided to sign him because I knew he was a good player.”

He also added, “I spent a full season in Seibu, Japan, and gained experience in being intensively checked by opposing pitchers in the center of the batting line, and I expect that experience will help me quickly adapt to the KBO league.”

O’Gredi appeared in 19 games and had a batting average of 1.25 (9-for-72) with 8 RBI and 3 runs. He returned after rebalancing in the 2nd Army, but it was not much different. He’s still wandering, going 1-for-9.

Smith was evaluated as one of the first starters who used various pitches such as slider, curveball, and changeup based on his fastball reaching 155km/h from his height of 193cm.

General Manager Son Hyuk said, “Smith is a fireballer-type starting resource and can be assigned the first starting role. He has experience in Asian baseball, so it is expected that he will be able to adapt to the KBO league easily.” He explained that he is a player who pitches stably regardless of left and right batters with various pitches and speed control.”

He continued, “We recruited Smith because we needed a first-class player who could overwhelm opponent batters. Smith has a style of intimidating batters with pitches and is excellent at striking out. We expect Smith’s strengths like this to be of great help to the defense.” said.

Smith was only on the mound once. On the 1st of last month, he came down the mound early with 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts and 2 runs in 2⅔ innings as a starting pitcher for the regular season opening match against Kiwoom held at Gocheok Sky Dome.

In the 3rd inning, 2nd out, 1st and 2nd base Edison Russell showed symptoms of abnormality during the at-bat, and as a result of the examination, it was found that there was a slight damage to his shoulder muscle. Hanwha decided that they could not wait any longer for Smith’s slow recovery, and took out a replacement card.

O’Grady and Smith are at least better. Romero was sidelined after not playing a single game due to a shoulder injury.

At the time of Romero’s recruitment, the club said, “It is evaluated that he has stable skills as a left-handed starter because he has a good ball position that can press hitters with a fastball that exceeds 150 km and a breaking ball that comes out of the same height as a fastball and has an excellent sense of control. I expect him to quickly adapt to the team with his personality and great work ethic.
