Former Most Valuable Player (MVP) Cody Bellinger, 28, of the Chicago Cubs, has made the perfect comeback and is on the verge of a mega-contract.

This is the first time Bellinger has won the award since 2019, when he was named National League MVP. It’s his second career award.

Of course, his batting numbers pale in comparison to his 2019 season, when he was still reeling off MVP honors. Back then, Bellinger hit 47 homers, 115 RBIs, and a 1.035 OPS in 156 games.

However, Bellinger has steadily shown signs of life since the beginning of this season, and last month he signaled that he was back to full strength.
